Dag 358 Puzzle Embossing

Een nieuwe kaart met de puzzle embossing achtergrond. Ik ben er helemaal van in de ban van deze Techniqe Junkies techniek, en probeer allerlei soorten van embossing folders,en manieren van snijden uit.
Voor mij is het afmaken van de achtergrond altijd het moeilijkste, dat is de uitdaging op dit moment.
Deze vind ik zelf wel goed geslaagd. Meestal gebruik ik vanille embossing poeder op craft papier, omdat het een zeester is, heb ik nu oranje embossing poeder gebruikt. Op de foto kun je helaas het geglitter niet zo goed zien.

A new card with the Puzzle Embossing technique. I love this Technique Junkies technique and I am trying out all kind of embossing folders and ways to cut the paper.
The most difficult thing for me is to use background into a card. That is the challenge at the moment. I am kind of pleased with this one.
Normally I use vanilla embossingpowder on Kraft, but in this case I used orange. Sadly you can not see the shimmer on the card.

Dag 357 Bloemen

Heel erg lange en drukke dag. Hoewel op het eerste gezicht rustig lijkt, heb ik een hoop gedaan vandaag, een hoop mensen gezien, en een heleboel leuke, moeilijke, gezellige gesprekken gevoerd.
Bij zo een prachtige dag past een tevreden kaartje.
De techniek heb ik geleerd bij Technique Junkies. Voor mij is dat het beste abonnement dat ik heb. Altijd een bron van inspiratie. En het beste is nog... omdat ik alle CD's heb gekocht zit de inspiratie gewoon in mijn computer, slechts 1 muisklik verderop.

This was a long and full day. At first glance it looks like a quiet sunday. The day was filled however with a lot of people, and a lot of fun, difficult and even sad converstations.
After such a great day, a satisfied card is a good option.
The technique I learned at Technique Junkies. For me, that is the best subscribtion I could think of. Always a place where I can find inspiration. And the best thing is....since I have all the CD's this inspiration is in my computer, just a mouse click away.

Dag 345 Kerstkaart

Wel een kerstkaart gemaakt vandaag, maar met andere stempels. De techniek is van Technique Junkies. Een van mijn favoriete technieken voor kerstkaarten (toch eens proberen of het ook werkt voor verjaardags kaarten)

I made a christmas card today, but with other stamps. The technique is Technique Junkies. One of my favorite techniques for christmas cards (I must try this technique for birthday cards aswell that might work)

Dag 333 Shattered Glass christmas card

En om de afspraak aan mezelf trouw te blijven, een kerstkaart gemaakt met de van de week nieuw geleerde techniek. Shattered Glass.
Ook nu ben ik begonnen met een parelmoer kaartje. De inkt is de limited edition Distress ink. Dat is toch wel de fijnste inkt voor spons technieken vind ik.
Ik heb sneeuwvlokken gestempeld in donker blauw.
De tekst apart gestempeld en uitgeponsd. Daarna met een stukje foamtape opgeplakt.

To keep the deal I made with myself, I made a christmas card with the Technique Junkie technique I learned this week, Shattered Glass.
I started off with a Pearlisent card, and coloured it with the Limited edition Distress ink. I think that is the best ink for sponging techniques.
I stamped snowflakes on the background.
The sentiment I stamped on a seperate card, and punched it out. I attached it with a piece of foamtape.

Dag 298 Acrylic Block Taping

Na een druk weekeinde had ik vandaag eindelijk een rustige dag. Eerst een paar sollicitatiebrieven geschreven en vooral veel was weggewerkt. Daarna stond er vandaag niet veel op het programma. Eindelijk tijd om de Technique Junkies nieuwsbrief eens goed te bekijken en wat technieken uit te proberen.
Ik ben maar gewoon boven aan begonnen,en heb gespeeld met Acrylic Block Taping techniek.
Dit is het resultaat.
De bloemen en tekst komen uit een heel oude Stampin Up set. Because of you. De tekst gebruik ik vaker, maar deze bloemen eigenlijk nooit.
Nu heb ik ze gestempeld met groene Stazon inkt, en ingekleurd met gelpennen. 
De hartjes zijn gestansd met framelits, de oranje hartjes heb ik gemaakt door de framelits aan de buitenkant uit te snijden. Zo waren ze precies groot genoeg voor een extra accent.

After a very busy weekend, today was a quiet day. First I wrote some cover letters, and worked my way trough a pile of laundry but after that, there were no things planned for today.
So finally I had some time to read the Technique Junkies newsletter. And even to try out a few techniques. I decided to start at the top, and work my way down.
The first one is the Acrylic Block Taping technique.
The flowers and sentiment are from a very old Stampin Up set, Because of you. I use the sentiment sometimes, but have never used the flowers before. This time I stamped them with green Stazon, and coloured them with gel pens.
The hearts are diecut with framelits, the orange hearts are made by cutting around the framelit die. This makes the hearts just big enough for an extra accent.

Dag 270 Christmas

In de laatste Technique Junkies nieuwsbrief, staat een techniek waarbij je gebruik maakt van stickers en glitter. Dat is natuurlijk de beste techniek om een kerstkaart mee te maken. En dat heb ik dus gedaan. Geen stempel gebruikt vandaag...

In the current Technique Junkies newsletter is a techniek which uses stickers and glitter. That is ofcourse the perfect technique to use for a christmas card. So I did. I didn't use one stamp today..

Dag 256 Just one March.

Bij technique Junkies doe ik mee aan de Just One swap. Erg leuk vind ik dat. In de maand Maart had ik een kaart gemaakt met de trapeze technique. De achtergrond heb ik gemaakt met de Cuttlebug Highligt technique. De image is van een retired Stampin Up set (haute couture). De kaart heeft er ruim een maand over gedaan om aan te komen. Maar nu kan ik hem dan toch showen.

At Technique Junkies I participate in the Just One swap. I like that a lot. In March I made a card with the Trapeze Technique. The background I made with the Cuttlebug Hightlight technique. The image is Stampin Up, Retired (haute couture) The card took a month to arrive, but I can show it today. En de Just one March die ik mocht ontvangen, kwam ook vandaag binnen. Die is erg mooi.

And the March Just one I got to receive, arrived today. That one is beautiful.

Dag 252 ATC

Ik merk dat ik steeds vaker een ATC maak. Straks ga ik nog ruilen ook. Zou ik een nieuwe hobby hebben? Deze begon als ATC om een technieken boek te maken, maar werd een gewone ATC. De achtergrond is gemaakt volgens een Technique Junkies techniek. met Chalk. Ik ben dol op chalk, maar gebruikte het te weinig, omdat het effect zo afgeeft altijd. En met een fixeer vind ik het weer minder mooi. Maar met deze techniek blijft het wel goed zitten. Dus gebruik ik eindelijk mijn Chalk op. Er op zitten Maya Road clipboard embellishments. Ik heb de schaar en de naald met Shimmer paint zilver geschilderd, en het klosje met Hein design acrylverf wit. Om het klosje heb ik garen gedraaid, en de naald er tussen gestoken. De tekst is van Stampin Up, van een retired set.

I notice that I make more and more ATC's. I wonder, will I go swap aswell? Looks like I am getting a new hobby. This started out as ATC for a book about techniques. But ended as a normal ATC. The background is made according to a Technique Junkies technique. It is a technique which uses chalk. I love chalk, but I use it to little, because it won't stick properly. And fixer decreases the effect IMHO. In this technique the chalk does stick, so now I am using all my chalks. The embellishments are Maya Road. I coloured the siccors and the needle with Shimmer paint, and the bobbin with HeinDesign acrylpaint. On the bobbin I put some threat,and put the needle in it. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set.

dag 250 Cascading Images

Vanavond heb ik een Technique Junkies techniek geprobeerd. Uit de laatste nieuwsbrief. Ik heb eerst een stukje aquarel papier met glitter aquarelverf grijs geschilderd. Laten drogen. Daarna de schelpen er op gestempeld, en uitgeknipt. Daarna heb ik met een andere kleur glitter aquarelverf de accenten aangebracht. Op een ATC kaartje heb ik de tekst gestempeld , met blauwe versamark. Daarna de kaart in elkaar gezet. De schelp onderop is met 3D Foamtape opgeplakt. ( ik zie dat de foto wat donker is, mijn excuus daarvoor)

Tonight I tried a Technique Junkie technique. This is from the last newsletter. First I coloured a piece of watercolourpaper with grey shimmer watercolour paint. Then I stamped the shells. I cut out the stamps, and made some accents with an other colour shimmer watercolour paint. With blue versafine I stamped a sentiment on a ATC card. And put togehter the card. The picture is a bit dark, I am sorry for that.

Dag 246 Kleuren op zwart / Colouring on black

Het is altijd heel erg lastig om met zwart te werken. Nou zijn er wel technieken waarbij dat hele vrolijke kaartje oplevert. Ik heb 2 ATC's gemaakt om twee technieken te demonstreren.

De eerste is de Black Magic techniek. Die heb ik ongeveer een jaar geleden ontdekt, en ik was er gelijk weg van. Het heeft alles wat ik geweldig vind. Stempelen, kleuren, en vooral de WOW factor.
Ik vond hem op de site van Splitcoaststampers, waar erg veel tutorials op staan. Als je de site nog niet kent, is het zeker de moeite waard om daar eens te gaan kijken. Staat ook vol met kaarten en scrapbooks om inspiratie op te doen. Wel even aanmelden, maar het is verder geheel gratis (al is er ook een betaald deel)

Het tweede kaartje is gemaakt met een techniek uit de laatste nieuwsbrief van Technique Junkies. Heel leuk, al is het een Copic techniek en heb ik geen enkele copic stift. Maar het werkt heel goed met stiften die werken op acryl, en aangezien ik dat graag doen, heb ik daar wel stiften voor. Dit kaartje is gekleurd met de sharpies die ik op de beurs heb gekocht vorige week.

It is always difficult to work with black cardstock. But there are techniques to add colour to black cardstock, which makes it a fun card. I made 2 ATC to demonstrate this techniques.

The first is a technique called Black Magic. I was attended to this technique about a year ago, and loved it right away. It has everything I love, stamping, colouring with pencils, and especially the WOW factor.
I found this technique on the Splitcoaststampers website. There are lots of tutorials on this webside. If you doesn't know this side yet, you really should pay it a visit. It is filled with all kinds of cards, and scrapbook pages and other stuff to get inspired. You have to registrate, but it is free (althought there is a paid possibility aswell)

The second card is made with a technique from the last Technique Junkies newsletter.
It is a technique with uses copic markers which I do not have. But I do love working on acryl and do have all kind of markers that work on that. I tried that markers in this technique and it works wonderwel. This card is made with the sharpies which I bought last week.

Dag 223 Christmas card

Vandaag een Zentangle kaartje gemaakt, maar die moet eerst bij de ontvanger aankomen voor ik hem kan laten zien hier. Daarna moest echt nodig het verstelwerk gedaan worden.
En daarna nog een kaartje voor het blog van vandaag.
Zoals inmiddels gebruikelijk als ik het druk heb, een kerstkaartje. Het was even zoeken want ik wist dat ik nog ergens een achtergrond klaar had liggen. Maar waar had ik die ook weer opgeruimd???
Inderdaad, die had ik opgeruimd, ze lagen keurig in het doosje achtergronden. (soms ben ik zo georganiseerd.

Deze achtergrond is gemaakt volgens een Technique Junkies techniek. Chalked Emboss. Eindelijk een manier om chalk te gebruiken die me wel bevalt. Ook zonder embossing is het effect geweldig.

Een kaartje erbij gezocht (groen, want kerst) en dan... Kerstballen, maar niet met de originele stempel. Ik heb van al mijn ponsen en stansen een mal gemaakt dus het was makkelijk zoeken naar een stempel die paste in de kerstbal.
De ster gestempeld op prachtig goud papier (Action) en geembossed met groen glitter embossing poeder van Zing.
En uitgeponst.

Today I made a Zentangle card. But because that is for a challenge I can not blog it yet. First the receiver has to see it.
After I made the card, I had to do some repairs on cloth. That was long overdue, so I really had to do that first.
Then I had to make a card for my blog. And as it goes nowadays, I made a christmas card.
I had to search for the background, I knew I had one somewhere, but where did I put it??
I found it in the draw with backgrounds (sometimes I am sooo organised)

This background is made according to a technique Junkie technique, called Chalked Emboss.
Finally I have a way to use the chalks in a way that it works. Even without the embossing, it is great.

I looked for a card to go with it, (green, Christas) and than I wanted ornaments. But then without the stamp that goes with the punch.
I made templates for all my punches the other day so it was easy to find a stamp that fit the ornament punch. I stamped the star with versamark on gold paper (Action) and heat embossed the star with green glitter embossingpowder (Zing)
And punched out the ornament.

Then I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment,and punched out another ornament

I took a piece of threat and tied that on the ornaments and then hang them to the card.

Dag 200 LIM Neutrals

Bij Less is more is de uitdaging Neutrals deze week. Mijn eerste poging was het niet helemaal. Opnieuw denken dus, en toen kwam ik er uit.
Ik heb een boot gestempeld op craft papier, en geembossed met vanille embossingpoeder. Het bootje uitgescheurd en een hoek omgerold, en daar een kompas achter gestempeld. Oorspronkelijk wilde ik dat alleen met versamark, maar toch maar geembossed met vanille.
Daarna heb ik een sentiment gemaakt met JustRight stempels. De tekst die ik wilde heb ik niet als stempel geloof ik. Ook de tekst is geembossed met vanille.

The challenge at Less is more this week is Neutrals. My first attempt did't work. So I had to rethink and I came up with this.

I stamped a sailboat on craftpaper, and heatembossed it with vanille. I teared out the boat, and curled the corner. Behind that corner I stamped a compas, which I heat embossed too with vanille. I wanted only to use versamark, but then you could barely see the compas.
Then I made a sentiment with JustRite stamps. I seem not to own the sentiment I wanted in stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment with vanille aswell.
