Dag 253 LIM

De LIM challenge van deze week is een sketch. Ik ben niet zo heel goed in sketches maar voor Lim probeer ik alles :-D. Eerst heb ik een rondje in de kaart gestansd, en dat afgemaskerd. Daarna de ondergrond gesponsed. Een stempel zet en met paper piecing ingekleurd. De kleine bloemen heb ik ingekleurd met een Uni Posca Marker. zo ook de hartjes van de grote bloemen. In de hartjes heb ik nog een rhinestone bevestigd met de hotfix. Tenslotte heb ik een draadje geregen door de gaatjes die ik er in gestansd had. Daarna het masker verwijderd, en een sentiment gestempeld.

The LIM challenge of the week is a sketch. I am not very good with sketches, but for LIM I do everything :-D. First I used a die to make a circle of holes in the middle of the card. Than I masked the rest of the card off. I spunged the background. I stamped the flowers in the middle of the circle. I masked of the part of the stamp that didn't fit the circle. I coloured the flowers using Paper Piecing. I coloured the small flowers with Uni Posca Markers. Aswell as the hearts of the big flowers. I used my Hotfix to attach the rhinestones as heart of the flowers. Finally I put a threath in the holes of the circle. Then I removed the mask, and stamped a sentiment.

Dag 236 Collage

Deze techniek is een van mijn favorieten. Maskeren, en van alles over elkaar heen stempelen.
Het leukste is, dat je eigenlijk niet goed kan zien wat het resultaat is. Door al de maskers op de kaart, is het een verrassing hoe het er uiteindelijk uit komt te zien.

Deze kaart heb ik eerst bewerkt met alcohol inkt. Een beetje in zee tinten. Daarna heb ik de tekst gestempeld, en gemaskerd, en daarom heen allerlei dingen gestempeld. Uiteindelijk heb ik een tekst gestempeld, en alle maskers verwijderd.

Het kaartje op een basis kaart geplakt en nog een lijntje getrokken. Het grappige is dat de kaart echt recht op de basiskaart zit, maar het oogt scheeft. Ik denk dat het komt omdat de tekst scheef gestempeld is.

This is one of my favorite techniques. Masking, and making a collage. The best part is, removing all the masks. Because of the mask, you can not really see what you are making, and it is kind of a suprise when you remove the masks.

For this card I first used alcohol ink to make the background. I used sea colours. Than i stamped the sentiment, and masked it. I stamped all kind of sea and sailing related items and stamped around on the carrd. Masking as I went.
Finally I stamped the script, and removed all the masks.

I attached the card to a basecard, and draw a line around it. The strange thing is, that the card is really right on the card, but looks like it is offcenter. I think it is because the script is stamped like that.

Dag 214 LIM masking

De LIM challenge van deze week is MASKING. Nou behoort dat tot mijn favoriete en meest gebruikte technieken. Dan nog iets om te maken.
Zoekend tussen mijn stempels kwam ik deze fiets tegen. Het idee was de fiets tussen de bomen te laten fietsen, maar toen ik het bomen wheel wilde pakken zag ik het huizen wiel, eigenlijk vond ik dat nog leuker.

Ik heb een passe partout gesneden met een Nestability en die op een kaart geplakt Binnen het passe partout heb ik gestempeld.

Het moest 3 keer over, want de eerste keer zweefde de fiets door de lucht, de tweede keer was ik even vergeten het masker over de fiets te plakken, maar poging 3, waarbij ik de stamp-a-magic gebruikte om de fiets op de goede plek te krijgen, en het wiel op de goede plek liet beginnen, lukte wel.
De huizen ingekleurd met Derwent Artists.
Daarna het label in de passe partout geplakt, en de passe partoutweggehaald. Met mijn vinger blauwe inkt langs de rand geveegd.
En met dezelfde inkt het sentiment gestempeld.

THe LIM challenge this week is MASKING. That is one of my favorite and most used techniques. But to make something with it for a challenge is, well a challenge.
Looking trough my stamps I found this bike. The idea was to let the bike ride between trees, but when I was getting my tree wheel I saw the house wheel, which was even more fun.

I cut a passe partout with a nestability, and stamped inside the passe partout.

I had to do it 3 times. The first time the bike was in the air, the second time I forgot to mask the bike, the thirth time with the use of the stamp-a-magic it worked.
I coloured the houses with Derwent Artist.
Then I masked the inside of the passe partout, and removed the passe partout. I used my finger to put some blue ink around the edge of the label, and removed the label. Then I stamped a sentiment with the same blue ink.

Dag 175 Layered masking

Nog een nieuwe techniek uit de nieuwste Technique Junkies nieuwsbrief.
Masking is sowieso een van mijn favoriete technieken.
In de beschrijving van de techniek wordt als achtergrond een tekststempel gebruikt. Daar heb ik niet zo een grote stempel van, en toen ik door mijn stempels bladerde, kwam ik deze tegen. Een puzzel. Dat bleek een goede zet, want ik vind het resultaat mooi.

Masking is one of my all time favorite techniques.

In the discribtion of the technique there is a script stamp used. I do not have such a big script stamp, but I found this jigsaw puzzle. That worked out well. I like the result.

dag 168 Felicitatie

Ik kreeg een smsje dat een goede vriendin vandaag haar rijbewijs heeft gehaald. Daar moest natuurlijk een kaart voor gemaakt worden.

De auto gestempeld in paars op heel glad papier, en met en blender pen de inkt laten uitlopen. Deze techniek geeft me het gevoel dat ik de inkt ten volle gebruik.
Daarna de auto gemaskerd. In de laadbak een fiets gestempeld, en die ook gemaskerd.
Daarna de grote struik in groen overal over heen gestempeld. Door het gladde papier is de inkt niet overal even goed gestempeld, en is de inkt ook niet gelijkmatig gedroogd.
Tenslotte het sentiment gestempeld.

This morning a very good friend texted me that she got her drivers licence. That asked for a card.

I stamped the car in purple on very smooth paper. With a blenderpen I coloured the car with his own colour. This technique gives me the feeling I really use the ink.
Than I masked the car, stamped a bike in the truck and masked that too.
I stamped the big flowerything in green over everything. Because the smoothness of the paper the ink didn't dry evenly, and dripped a little.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment.

Dag 166 Nog een kerstkaart

Toen ik bezig was met de Masked Sentiment kaart, kreeg ik nog een ander idee.
Ik heb eerst de auto gestempeld met rood, en de inkt laten uitlopen mbv een blender pen.
Daarna de auto gemaskerd en de kerstboom er in gestempeld. Het masker verwijderd en de auto uitknipt.
Daarne de auto op de kaart gelegd, en het eerste sentiment gestempeld. In diep rood (cherry cobbler) Zo kwam het sentiment en auto precies goed op de kaart. Daarna heb ik de kaart verder vol gestempeld met het zelfde sentiment in licht grijs.
Tenslotte de auto er met foamtape op geplakt.

While I was making the Masked Sentiment card, I thougt of an variation.
First I stamped the car in red, and coloured the car in with the ink, using a blender pen. This is a controled way to let the ink bleed.
I masked the car, and stamped the tree so it is inside the car. I removed the mask and cut the car.
Then I layed the car on the card,and positioned the first sentiment, which I stamped in red (cherry cobbler) This way the sentiment was in the right place when I finished the card. I stamped the card full with the same sentiment in a very light gray.
I finished the card by attaching the car on the card with foamtape.
